Debt Management Commonwealth Catholic Charities Resources Commonwealth Catholic Charities (CCC), an independent nonprofit organization that works closely with Bon Secours Virginia's Employee Assistance Program (EAP), provides debt management resources. Debt Management Debt Management Services is a program designed to help persons who have become overextended with unsecured creditors (i.e., credit cards to banks, retailers, etc.) and who are seeking assistance with developing an affordable repayment plan as an alternative to bankruptcy. Debt Management Services offers free counseling to families and individuals on personal budgeting, housing and the wise use of credit. You do not have to be Catholic to receive these services. Call the CCC office for a free confidential counseling appointment. A certified credit counselor will work with you to analyze your spending and saving patterns based on your income and will help you design a workable household budget. Your counselor will also offer advice on money management techniques and, if needed, set up and administer a debt management plan to help you repay your creditors. The plan, when followed, will help you get back on track and repay your creditors without resorting to other more serious measures such as bankruptcy. The plan is accepted and endorsed by most creditors nationwide. In fact, many of them make concessions by reducing finance charges, stopping late fees or lowering monthly payments. They also stop collection activity, which means no more phone calls at home or work from bill collectors! You make ONE payment to ONE place. We take care of the rest. CCC services include: • Personal Budgeting • Housing Counseling • Debt Repayment Programs Call for an appointment (804) 285-5900; TTY (804) 285-1630. Or visit www.cccofva.org. |
